Volunteers. Junior's for Start Pontoons in the Senior Regatta.

The draw is out and the final preparations are being made. We have an increased number of races and are having to use all 7 lanes in many of the events. Could I please ask you to send me a list of the names of your Junior volunteers and their availability for the main regatta. We have 33 races which will take somewhere around 5 ½ hours to complete. If you can supply 3 volunteers each then they will need to be on the start pontoons for up to 1 ½ hours. Some will be more and some less, but we do need them. If your club is competing it is not much to ask. Once I have the names I can prepare a rota.

Please E Mail Tim Bull at timothy.bull@tiscali.co.uk

In anticipation

Thanks for your support.

The 2017 (61st) South Coast Rowing Championships & 12th Under 16 Regatta. Dorney Lake. Eton. 2nd September, 2017. Running Order and draw

The 2017 (61st) South Coast Rowing Championships & 12th Under 16 Regatta. Dorney Lake. Eton. 2nd September, 2017. Running Order and draw.

The latest version of the running order and draw for the 2017 South Coast Rowing Championship Senior and Junior Regattas can now be downloaded in pdf format from the Event web site.

You can also download the Club Captains, coaches, Team Managers Handbook. This includes information on – the Captains briefing; the Time table; the organising committee; how to get to Dorney Lake; Parking for Cars, minibuses, coaches, towing vehicles and boat trailers plus the traffic circulation plan; the facilities, reception and prize giving, a map showing the location of facilities; general instructions - including race instructions; training at Dorney; racing circulation pattern; course map, safety and communications; the emergency plan; Junior and Senior event safety plans; Boat inspection checklist and heel restrains guide.

This handbook is a large file – It’s also available to download in colour from the Championships web site – www.hdara.co.uk/scc  in two sections – as is a “greyscale” one in one section. To find these - and the running orders and draw go to the web site click on the SCC REGATTA Tab on the right hand side and go to REGATTA INFORMATION – where all the regatta information is available to download.

Entry queries should be E Mailed to - hdarascc@googlemail.com – and we will try to respond as soon as possible.

Also attached and downloadable from the REGATTA INFORMATION PAGE is the form you must use to make any alterations to your entries - for the Open, invitation or Junior events. It forms part of the Captains, Coaches and Team manager’s handbook but is available separately - in word format - in case you just need to download this and key in your adjustments.

It should be noted that we have had a very large entry and it has been particularly difficult to establish a running order that works for everyone including those who have chosen to double-up. We have dome our best – but have had to make some compromises and it is VERY unlikely that we will be able to change the running order of either regatta – you all understand the risk you take when doubling-up. Equally we will need to push both regattas along as fast as possible so please plan your boat allocations with care and boat in plenty of time – it is unlikely we will be able to wait for any stragglers.

A hard copy of the running orders and draw for both the Junior and Senior Regatta along with a hard copy of the Captains/Coaches/Team Managers Handbook, the parking permit for towing vehicles and trailers and Club invites to the Friday reception will be posted, first class, to the name and address on the entry forms on Wednesday, 23rd August.

Further information is also available on the Championship Regatta Web site – which is hosted by the Hants & Dorset ARA web site at http://www.hdara.co.uk – the quick link that will take you directly to the South Coast Championship pages is - http://www.hdara.co.uk/scc

2017 South Coast Championship Regatta. Saturday, 2nd September, 2017. HELP still needed.

I am sure all of you are well aware that this years South Coast Rowing Championships Regatta is being hosted by our Association - the Hants & Dorset ARA - on Saturday, 2nd September, at Dorney Lake - less than two weeks away - and is being organised by a committee drawn from most of the Associations affiliated Clubs - with appeals for volunteers to help on the day being posted to all clubs on a number of occasions - and while many Clubs and individuals have responded we are still in need of volunteers to ensure that we can stage a successful regatta.

In particular we have a need for a few more volunteer shore, pontoon, boat and race marshals – for the Junior Regatta in the morning – and the Championship and open events in the afternoon. If there is anyone who can volunteer for part or all of the day in these sort of roles we would really like to hear from you as soon as possible – and please put the word out to your clubs. Please E Mail names of possible volunteers - with contact information - E Mail and Mobile if possible to - stephencbull@gmail.com
