Accountability

Accountable to the H&D Hon Secretary. 

The Events Recorder works with the H&D Executive, Club and Regatta Secretaries to deliver this function

Purpose

To maintain a current list of rowers registered with H&D ARA and to collate, confirm, record and publish H&D Championship results.

Key Tasks

This person would be responsible for:

  • Registration of Rowers at the beginning of the season·        
  • Receiving, collating and posting results on the H&D Website on a weekly basis throughout the season
  • Producing and posting championship tables on the H&D Website on weekly basis throughout the season

Coxswain of the Year Sub-Committee

Term of reference: To consider on a seasonal basis, against the criteria laid down from time to time by the Associations executive Committee, the performance of all the Coxswains from all Hants & Dorset ARA Clubs, both on and off the water, at all Hants & Dorset ARA Regatta’s and at the end of each season to select a Hants & Dorset Coxswain of the year. The Racing Officials at each Regatta will nominate the three coxswains they feel have performed the best on the day and will note their names and Clubs on the Regatta De-brief form which will be sent to the Association Secretary who will analysis the nominations at the end of the season the Coxswain of the Year Award being presented to the coxswain who received most points during the season – with points awarded as follows – 1st nominated 5 points and Regatta Cox of the day; 2nd nominated – 3 points; 3rd nominated – 1 point.

Term of reference: To try to ensure, as far as practical, that all Hants & Dorset ARA affiliated Clubs and Regatta's comply with the Amateur Rowing Association Water Safety code of Practice and guidance notes and any additional terms of practice introduced by the Hants & Dorset Amateur Rowing Association.
